We have exciting news to share with you!
Our long-cherished dream of renovating the historic Border Theatre is finally taking shape! The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Revenue and MNA of Compton-Stanstead today announced a generous investment of $2.1 million by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Communities as part of the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program grant to renovate the the theatre. Thanks to this investment, this ambitious project is now on the path to realization.
The renovation of the Border Theatre promises to significantly enhance the cultural landscape of Stanstead. Beyond just bricks and mortar, the renovated theatre will be the central venue for performing arts, drama, concerts, cinema, exhibitions, workshops, talks and events in the heart of downtown Stanstead. By providing a platform for artistic expression and cultural exchange, it will serve residents and visitors alike.
Through collaborative partnerships and innovative programming, the Centre des arts de Stanstead is committed to ensuring that the benefits of this initiative are felt far and wide. We are immensely grateful for the support of our donors, volunteers, and patrons. Together, we are laying the foundation for a more vibrant arts and culture scene in the region.
